On Friday October 22nd I was endorsed by the Editorial Staff of The Northfield News. Its is very humbling and I greatly appreciate the kind words.

The Northfield News’ endorsement process began this summer when we asked readers to submit questions for local candidates. From those submissions, the News’ editorial staff formulated a set of questions that were sent to each candidate.
Those responses were shared with our Reader Advisory Panel which helped devise follow up questions that the News’ editorial board asked of each candidate during one-on-one interviews.
The editorial board then weighed each opposed candidate’s responses and how their service would impact the communities they wish to serve.
Dundas Mayor: Glenn Switzer
Dundas is lucky to have two strong candidates running for mayor this election. Both Glenn Switzer and Myron Malecha have strong ties and experience in the community. Both have had to make difficult decisions for the betterment of Dundas.
But where Switzer distinguishes himself is in the process. In his four years as mayor, Switzer has taken pains to improve communication between the staff and the council, and between the city’s leadership and the community in general.
What Switzer doesn’t know he takes the time to learn and it is rare that you find him without the facts to back up his position on any issue. He is an advocate of open, transparent government, as was shown in the process used to increase the city’s water and sewer fees.
Switzer also has a demonstrated ability to reach out to those who hold opposing positions to try and build bridges, but he does so while keeping Dundas’ interests first and foremost in his mind. Dundas’ recent conversation about sharing services with Northfield is a good example of that.
Switzer has proven himself a dedicated and thoughtful leader for Dundas.
