Tree Trunks with Snow…

Wednesday’s little burst of snow showers and wind made for some interesting images….

I love when trees are dormant and their skeletal structure is on full display.

The snow really added to the dramatic rhythm of the trees… enjoy!

The Dundas Easter Egg Hunt ~ 2012

The Dundas Easter Egg Hunt ~ 2012

The Dundas Easter Egg Hunt was a wonderful success again this year.  Despite the light rain and cool temps, the Egg Hunt went on as scheduled.  Mittens, caps, umbrellas, and rain coats didn’t get in the way of picking up the eggs.  All 4,000 eggs were sco0ped up in a little over a minute…

Many thanks to the Dundas Park and Rec Board, volunteers and sponsors for their work to make the egg hunt a success.

Spring Apples ~ By Glenn! Switzer

…walk with me in the orchard
spring is near – snow covered earth – fall’s harvest hangs
morning’s frost kissed flesh – sun rays melt
return to the soil
walk with me in the orchard…

Spring Apples

…spring apples hang in the tree
wondering once what they were
morning frost covers wrinkled flesh
sun rays soften warm and melt
released from its maker
falling to the snow covered earth
soon to be one again with the soil
spring apples lay on the orchard floor…
life.

Bill Nelson and wife Pat

Long time resident and local HERO… (well at least for me), Bill Nelson has entered the digital cloud and is now blogging!!  Bill played and coached the Dundas Dukes, worked at Carleton College and is very envolved with the City of Dundas.  I’m sure Bill will fill us all in with all the details and dirt (from the ball diamonds infield) with his blog… that is the point, isn’t it???  Bill is participating in the online course ‘Your Thick Skull: WordPress for Noobs‘ offered by blogging LEGEND…(well at least for me) Griff Wigley of Wigley & Associates.  You may know Griff from his work on Locally Grown Northfield.  It’s a great course… I am also taking the course to gain a better understanding of blogging and WordPress.   I look forward to Bill’s insights of our community and life in general!  You can always trust the skipper… Check out Bill’s blog at ‘billyhdundas
