(Link to the Secretary of State Website – Results)

Thank you to ALL who canvased, placed signs in their yards and supported me at the voting both!  I am excited to work with the new council and feel we will have a great team.  Michelle and I enjoyed dinner at the L&M while watching other election results.  We received the good news and toasted to the future of Dundas.  We then went to Northfield to other candidates parties.   Time to get some rest – allot of work to come!

Again, thank you to all that helped make this resounding victory possible!

Electric Literature – Campaign Brochure

Door knocking! Canvasing the neighborhoods is one of the best parts of the election.  If your really want to get in touch with what your city is like – door knock.  It is wonderful to greet and meet so many neighbors.  Below is the brochure that I am distributing.  I created the brochure in Adobe Indesign  CS2 using one of my favorite photos of the Cannon River just as the leaves are beginning to turn colors.

Just the facts…

Canidate for Mayor of Dundas, MN - Glenn Switzer Listening to the question.

An enjoyable part of running for public office is the candidate forums.  I participated in two forums concerning my bid for Mayor of Dundas, Minnesota.  The first forum was held at the City Hall in Northfield by the League of Wemon Voters (LWV) and event collobrative partner, The Northfield News on Saturday morning October 18th.  Their City  Hall is all wired for video and made it easy for the them to record.  Here is a link to the video.

The second forum was hosted by the Dundas Business & Professional Group (DB&PG) at the Church of the Holy Cross in Dundas on thursday evening October 24th.  The forum lasted two hours, yes two hours, but was very informative to the attendes.  The forum was recorded and replayed on Northfield Television.  No link is available for the video.

HMS Tour 2008 Photos – Dundas, MN

The History, Music & Stories Tour sponsored by the Dundas Historical Society was held Sunday September 28th, 2008. The walking tour visited many historic sites in Dundas. The tour culminated at the Church of the Holy Cross with several activities. Michelle Millenacker the President of the Dundas Historical Society wrote in the Dundas Messenger, “The origin of Dundas, MN was authentically detailed by John and Cathrine Archibald themselves as they returned to life for the day thanks to the assistance of Bob and Ann Gregory Bjorkland’s stunning portrayals of the couple. – Inside the Holy Cross Church Randy Cox told of the history of the church and the Archibald Family’s involvement in the community and church which is intertwined over generations. – Also, inside the Church, ArtOrg Executive Director, Dave Machacek, previewed “The Twenty Views of Dundas” collaborative print making series. – Ending this wonderful afternoon was an organ recital and hymn sing by George Hardgrove. He was able to entertain, amuse and enlighten his audience about the 1865 organ (Jardine Organ) which originated from New York.”

Thanks to all of the Dundas Historical Society members who made the day possible. Thank you to all of the property owners who opened up their homes and businesses to the tour participants.
