This is a test. Just downloaded the WordPress App. for Anroid. Not planning on doing that much blogging from the phone, but keeping tabs on comments could be cool…

Bill Nelson and wife Pat
Long time resident and local HERO… (well at least for me), Bill Nelson has entered the digital cloud and is now blogging!! Bill played and coached the Dundas Dukes, worked at Carleton College and is very envolved with the City of Dundas. I’m sure Bill will fill us all in with all the details and dirt (from the ball diamonds infield) with his blog… that is the point, isn’t it??? Bill is participating in the online course ‘Your Thick Skull: WordPress for Noobs‘ offered by blogging LEGEND…(well at least for me) Griff Wigley of Wigley & Associates. You may know Griff from his work on Locally Grown Northfield. It’s a great course… I am also taking the course to gain a better understanding of blogging and WordPress. I look forward to Bill’s insights of our community and life in general! You can always trust the skipper… Check out Bill’s blog at ‘billyhdundas‘

Griff takes a quick photo of Bill following a Dundas Dukes game... Bill was hit by a foul ball in the chin during the game...
It’s been said that an image is worth a thousand words…

below are links to several photo sets & groups of Dundas images…
My Flickr set of random images of Dundas – Around Town – Dundas, Minnesota
…and a link to the History, Music & Stories Tour
…and a great set of images, Dundas History, compiled by ArtOrg for the artist to reference for the collaborative print project The Twenty Views of Dundas
…and if you have digital images of Dundas that you would like to share, they can be added to the Dundas, Minnesota Flickr Group. Becoming a member of Flickr is free and you don’t need to be a member to view the photos.
if you know of any other spot where you can find images of Dundas let me know and I will link to them… Thanks for Sharing.
Four More Years!! and just over 200 meetings… I’m excited.
Thank you for all your support!

On Friday October 22nd I was endorsed by the Editorial Staff of The Northfield News. Its is very humbling and I greatly appreciate the kind words.
Following text from the News website – link at the bottom:
The Northfield News’ endorsement process began this summer when we asked readers to submit questions for local candidates. From those submissions, the News’ editorial staff formulated a set of questions that were sent to each candidate.
Those responses were shared with our Reader Advisory Panel which helped devise follow up questions that the News’ editorial board asked of each candidate during one-on-one interviews.
The editorial board then weighed each opposed candidate’s responses and how their service would impact the communities they wish to serve.
Dundas Mayor: Glenn Switzer
Dundas is lucky to have two strong candidates running for mayor this election. Both Glenn Switzer and Myron Malecha have strong ties and experience in the community. Both have had to make difficult decisions for the betterment of Dundas.
But where Switzer distinguishes himself is in the process. In his four years as mayor, Switzer has taken pains to improve communication between the staff and the council, and between the city’s leadership and the community in general.
What Switzer doesn’t know he takes the time to learn and it is rare that you find him without the facts to back up his position on any issue. He is an advocate of open, transparent government, as was shown in the process used to increase the city’s water and sewer fees.
Switzer also has a demonstrated ability to reach out to those who hold opposing positions to try and build bridges, but he does so while keeping Dundas’ interests first and foremost in his mind. Dundas’ recent conversation about sharing services with Northfield is a good example of that.
Switzer has proven himself a dedicated and thoughtful leader for Dundas.

So they say you’re supposed to make all of your new year resolutions on Jan. 1. Most of them fail. I’m sure if I took the time to search I could find a link to show the exact percentage, but I’m not going to. There.

One of my resolutions was that I was going to post more to my blog this year then last…
so, I’ve started… only 10 or 12 more to go.
The ever popular group “The Zillionaires” will be headlining the Dundas Community Festival this year. They will be capping off a fun filled day of music. The Zillionaires will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. and play till 10:00 p.m.
Check out there website “The Zillionaires” and join us downtown DUNDAS.

Dave Mahachek, the executive director of ArtOrg, put together this video of “The Zillionaires” during a sound check at the Rueb.
